“Chef of the Year” is one of the most prestigious HRI competitions in Germany. mk² represented Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute at the semi-finals using the highly anticipated event to reconnect with the industry and to get back into dialogue with chefs and decision makers from food service and gastronomy.
The goal is to draw attention to Alaska as an origin for a diverse range of seafood products and to open new trade channels. The live cooking at the booth with professional chef and CEO of Kirberg Catering Volker Beuchert was ideal to demonstrate the product and to showcase the purity and versatility of Alaska wild salmon and black cod.
mk² chose to take part in “Chef of the Year” as the event generates strong media attention and has a wide network of opinion leaders in the food, trade and consumer press to increase awareness of the Alaska brand as a trustworthy source of sustainable, high-quality seafood. Besides, presenting Alaska Seafood, mk² always manages to use synergies for other clients. The Alaska black cod was served with American sweet potatoes and the booth featured brochures of both clients.
In total 300 professionals attended the event experiencing the quality, aroma and culinary diversity of Alaska Seafood and American sweet potatoes. In total, 500 samples plates were served to visitors increasing interest and awareness for both clients.
